Bad monkey....

What inspired me

These to bikes are a large part of what inspired me to push for a big flatty. One that I watched Kevin Baas post periodic pics of that was never finished. The other, which was sitting beside my '50 pan when I was making my mind up on which one I wanted. Luckily my brother got it and I slobber over it daily. Hard choice if you no you  cant  have both, just gotta pick. But I guess it all works out. Most people I  know would care less over a big flatty, but me, they have deep history. They were side by side the knuckle during the war. Probably saw more police production action to. Hell, they can hang with a fuckin evo!!! And look good doing it.

Parkerizing 101

Nothing to it if your able to remove all the chrome. That's hard as hell, but parkerizing is simple. Turned out nice.

Time for a change

My frame had hacked up floorboard tabs, along with other stuff I fixed earlier, so I'm going to mount new ones. The existing tabs were also missed placed. Now I have collected OEM boards, a way better rocker clutch and a reparkerized jiffy stand. Plus a lot of the stuff I took off I'm going to blast and parkerize as well. Next couple of weeks are going to be interesting .

Fun to be a welder...

This rolled in my pants today. Good thing it wasn't my kicker leg!

Strange winter...

Usually I have a bike to build or at least half way tear down but this winter had been proactive to a degree. Got my spare 16" tire changed, spare Genny rebuilt, rebuilt a couple of linkerts and general maintenance on the pans. Fixing to replace the bearings in some spare clutch hubs and gonna send a couple of speedos out to rebuild.

Diamond in the rough

Here's what the cleaned up 18" looks like. I had no idea it was this good of shape. Just needs new cork and paper gasket.

One cleaned, one to go

This was the worst of the 2 and it turned out nice. Rebuild the hub and its rolling!

Nos??? Doubt I'm that lucky but....

It was sealed with cosmaline and still has good parkerizing considering where I found it. But I doubt its nos. Somebody just had good sense after they rebuilt it I guess, its shiny new inside with a little grease drying out. Good deal for an old 18".

Decent score...

Got a set of 16" star hub wheels and a earlier set of 18" star hub wheels. Along with a '58 right pan tank.

How to pack 101

I always pack my beer on my p pad and end up busting 4-5. That's hilarious!! This should be a tech tip in a rag somewhere.
