Score!!
Got a decent set of tanks for my '50 today. Just need the hand shift bracket welded back on and a little work. They will make great tanks for a daily runner.

I got the rear fender gap on the '50 closer to the tire by using a longer spacer behind the oil tank. That's been bugging me to know end. I also got the linkert mostly dialed in just haven't had time to ride it yet. Then I put a different shaped solo seat on the '51. The bates was killing me. Weekend after next we're headed to the river run.

I got the carb on and mostly adjusted. The main issue I have with it is its difficult to start. Specially compared to my '51. I'm going to try the new rubber ducky floats on the market and pull out the brass one. Something else I don't if I mentioned is , I'm running a m61 on a 74" motor. Tho the m61 is correct for my '50 EL cases its not right for the 74" internals. So the carb has a m74b venturi. Now Im going to get a m74b fixed jet cause I have no way of measuring the one that's installed. Little things, that's all. The bike is idling good and plugs look good to.

Time for a change
This super e has been giving me the blues for a while now. That's an excuse for me to put a linkert on instead. I'm a linkert fan anyway. Dole Franks rebuilt my m74 on the '51 and just did my m61 for the '50. Linkerts are easy , reliable and forgiving. Plus its something to do for the next few evenings after work.
