Time to go....

Finally here in east Texas the evenings are cooling down. So what better way to enjoy , time for road trip. And believe me we're due for one. Me, my son, Duane, Heath and who ever else wants to go. Think we're gonna head to lake Fairfield and spend the night. If anyone is going to be in the area or want to go give me a shout. Leaving the 8th sat afternoon.

Tell me if you don't agree...

A huge part of all this are the little things we forget about or don't see at all. For example, the people we meet or encounter through our choppers. To me there are 3 key elements to our world. One is your bike, two is your journeys and three the people you meet along the way. My experience has given me friendships from places that I never would have guessed. Craigslist, ebay, email, the horse mag back talk, my blog. Matter of fact two very good friends of mine I met through craigslist. And im proud to have them as friends.
As inspired as I was with duanes build, I was still loosing focus on what I loved to begin with. Choppers and old stockers. I was loosing sight of my relationship with my bikes and was just wanting an end result.
This all stemmed from a reply I got from someone I met through the horse back talk forum/swap meet. A guy named Ken C. who gave me a shitload of advice just cause he saw my vision and wanted to pass on some of what he has learned over the past 40 years. Now remember I am a stranger to him. But his example showed me that there are people still in this game cause they love it, not to take you for all your skinny.
Now some people want to be badass rebels and not give a fuck and that's fine, they proly think my rants are stupid. That's cool too. For everyone else, including me, we need to remember our personal roots and values and we need to support our culture.
Back to my point, Ken thank you for reaching out to a stranger.

Well.... looks good anyway

It looks close to what I had in mind but the fender has no rigidness to it. Very flimsy.
Damn tho, it looks alot better than what was there before. Hopefully the knuckle springer set up will come out better. We'll see....

Sissy bar plus good tech tip...

Me and my son bent up our sissy bar today, came out rather well.

A good alternative to buying or machining bungs is to use threaded couplings. Any hardware store carries them plus they are already threaded. You can take a bandsaw or grinder and cut them down to a shorter length. Here I used 1/8" pipe thread couplings,  a 1/4" bolt will slide right thru and with little effort you can drill them out larger with plenty of meat left for rethreading.

Still got to make sissy bar and license plate mount.... think the fender is gonna turn out pretty good.

Rant rant rant

Well i'm not a writer by any means plus I have alot on my mind that I want to get out, so I hope I don't end up rambling. So where to start?
Inspiration! All I want to do is chop, build and ride. At work im thinking of riding, the days I carpool I wish I was riding, while doing my job i'll come across something that I think could be cut up to make a cool chopper part. If i'm not thinking of my beautiful wife, it's constantly bikes. I'm always on the hunt for parts searching blogs, ebay and clist. I've been doing this for several years now having 5 complete bikes and 1 total ground up build and another one in (slow) progress now. My pan and my shovel keep me stirred up so much that another build isn't easy enough on the pocket book. I say inspiration with a touch of addiction but i'm challenging myself and my son. I have a passion and desire that I was without for years and it feels good.
Some of you may no what i'm talking about and some may think i'm crazy. I envy the shit out of people like chopper Dave, Max Schaf and the late Johnny Chop. They build some of the radest scoots i've ever seen plus they do it cause they love it. Not for money. Plus I have met most of my closest friends through bikes and we all share the same passion. True brotherhood still lives and there are alot of core values that carry on in our culture. I'm not talking about posers, rubs and weekend warriors. I'm talking about people who make you want to be a better person.
My son and I rode over to Duane's today to take him a part. This was the first time I had seen him sinse we started his chop for the first time. Let me tell ya, there is a fire lit in him. You can see it in his face. He's been riding it to work and around town for a week now and i'll put money on it that he hasn't felt this way in years either.
Not really sure why I wanted to write all this but for like-minded people i'm sure you'll at least half way agree with me. At least now I won't have to go to therapy this week! Keep choppin!
When in doubt give it gas. Later....

Check this out....

You see sweepstakes through various companies all the time. For example Mcdonalds has monopoly where you can win cash, cars, trips etc ... But you never hear of anyone ever winning. At least I never have.
Well check this shit out. My wife just won a caribbean cruise! At first I thought it was a con or scam. Nope, she won it through Brookshires "grocery store" by having a discount card account with them. All i have to do is get passports. Freakin right on, all aboard honky's! !!!

All finished. Time to shake it down...

I couldn't help it.....

Politicians, show me a politician that is in office for the PEOPLE! All the ones that I no of are sucking the people and system dry for there own self righteous careers. Alot of people don't no this but our governmental system is set up where its "supposed" to be run by the people. If "we" don't like something "we" vote it out. Weather its in its mid term or at the end of its term. But people wont ban together and take control over who is in office. I guess we have blindly let it go on for so long we have become accustom to it.
We the people, for the people, by the people. Its ours to control. Your not a radical if you stand up for what you believe in and what's right.
This country was built upon GOD, industry, freedom and pioneers.  Our government has forgotten their roots. There is a reason our forefather's created The constitution and the bill of rights. Its was for us, not personal greed.
These politicians will continue there self righteous and corrupt ways until the people do something about it. We have the power, most just don't no it.
I'll get off my soap box now but remember this, you have the power to change everything. Why do you think for every law written there is 10 that contradict it?

cody edington

Got these from an email, thought they were pretty good. That's a topic that's hard for me to get off of so I wont start.

cody edington

On a better note, Caveman dan came down yesterday and shot the pan for submission to The Horse Magazine. Cross your fingers...
Now its time for the pan to go back under the knife bad monkey finger style! Gonna change the whole back end, frontend and wheels. Stay tuned!
Oh Duane, its game on brother.

For sale

Gonna test the waters anyway, thinking of selling my '69 shovel. Found a '40 model I wanna get.
Was having some issues with it keeping it running at idle and I tried everything I knew to do to no end. Long story short I took to the shop and to our discovery the "new" motor in it when I got it wasn't so new. The asshole from Florida I got it from slapped new pistons in it n called it new.  I was wondering why he wouldn't answer my calls, now I no. He's a douche hole!
All it needs is bored, pistons and possibly a cam. Bottom end and heads are ok. If interested codyeding31@gmail.com
If it doesn't sell its cool to cause I realy love it. Only thing that doesn't go with it is the seat which I have another to put on. Thanks for lookin

cody edington

Thought my seat turned out pretty good! Now if I can just paint it a different color....

Im going to get a few seat pans and Troy is gonna make a couple for us to sell. If anyone is interested or has any specifics in mind shoot me an email. His craftsman ship will far exceed your expectations.  codyeding31@gmail.com
